About

After studying Textile Design in London, I began my career as a freelance designer. Upon returning to Cheshire, I transitioned into teaching Art, Design, and Textiles at FE level. Since retiring from teaching, I have devoted my time to developing my own creative practice, exhibiting work, and refining my artistic voice.

My work is deeply inspired by the rural landscape and the structures embedded within it. Having grown up on a farm, I developed a lasting fascination with derelict barns, rusted metal, peeling paint, lichens, and the beauty of decay. These elements continue to influence my practice.

I work across a range of media, including paint, machine and hand stitch, and clay. My process focuses on building layered surfaces that reflect the texture, form, and colour of the environments I cherish. Sensory experiences; touch, sight, and material presence are central to how I interpret the landscape and express it through my work.
