Marshes Community Benefit Fund grant for new fire alarm
Castle Park Arts Centre gratefully received a grant from the Marshes Community Benefit Fund to replace the original, old and failing fire alarm system with a modern, state of the art, system that will provide first class, reliable warning of fire in the building. All the grant money was used to completely replace the original 35 year old fire alarm system, which was regularly giving false alarms.
The new fire alarm system was hard wired into every room in the building, including the roof space and it conforms to BS5839:2017 L2 standard. Four manual call points have been installed in agreed locations, twenty three smoke detectors are in place throughout the building and a heat detector has been installed in the kitchen area. The lift has been fitted with loop interfaces and connected to the new Fire Alarm monitoring station. The new alarm system has been commissioned, and staff training has been given on operating the system and carrying out regular fire alarm testing.
We are very pleased to receive this grant to help make the building a safer environment for staff and visitors to use.
